Hey HillyFans! As The Hillywood Show gears up for another convention weekend, we have another treat… a video from April. That’s right, not only did she submit an entire gallery for the site, she shared her personal, behind the scenes footage from Forks with us! She’s so generous :)

April sent me the clips, I did some shoddy iMovie editing. Don’t judge me, I work in photos, not videos! These clips are various takes of the same scene, so we can all see just how many times it takes to get things exactly right and end up with some extra footage just in case. There’s also a special silly treat near the end, from April’s personal clip stash (though, I couldn’t figure out how to rotate the footage, so rotate your heads!). The video is below, enjoy!

Leave a comment here or on the video and let April know what you think!

It’s sometimes strange to see that only one of the girls was interviewed, but such was the case for Examiner.Com reporter, Kathryn Darden, who spoke to Hannah at the Tennessee stop for The Official TWILIGHT Convention.

Hannah is 1/2 of the Hillywood team along with her younger sister, Hilly Hindi. They do use other talent who do a great job of impersonating Twilight cast members and performing as back-up dancers, but Hillywood is Hilly and Hannah… and one camera.  Hannah told me they were not familiar with the Twilight books and movies when some friends took them to see the first movie and suggested that Hillywood do a parody. “We had no idea what Twilight was at all!  Once we saw the movie, we were inspired to create something that the fans would like.” While it can take up to five months to prepare shoot and edit a Hillywood show, not much goes into actual show rehearsals. “We simply practice our impersonations alone and by ourselves,” Hannah claimed saying they like to keep things fresh when they shoot the scenes.

The Hillywood Show has a new poll up on their website and it’s a BIG one!

It seems Hilly and Hannah want the thoughts, opinions, and most importantly VOTES from the fans on what their next endeavor should be. There are three choices:

Make YOUR choice on TheHillywoodShow.Com by clicking here!

And in case you were wondering what choices the staff of HillyFans.Com made…

Sara

Alice.  While I enjoy The Hillywood Show’s work on the Twilight Saga, I feel that their stronger work lies outside it.  The Dark Knight Parody is my favorite, and I enjoy their interpretations of Johnny Depp.  Edward Scissorhands was a close runner-up for me, but I’d like to see some of what we’re used to (Johnny Depp) in a new setting (Wonderland).  PS- I’d make a great extra, just sayin’.

Mary

Alice in Wonderland! I think it’s time for the girls to step away from Twilight for a while and they’d do AiW justice.  I would have chosen Edward Scissorhands because it used to be a favorite movie when I was younger, but it’s already been covered with the webisodes. AiW is new and fresh! Plus… I’d offer them more money to be an extra in that one!

Ohmahgah, is this for real?!

It’s true, HillyFans! We’ve finally picked the winners for our second contest! We had some really great entries – and a bunch, too! You all had some really fun thoughts and honest ones, along with some funny ones. But let’s just get right down to it.

The Winner for Best Review:

Our Two Winners Chosen at Random Are:

Aimee
Meliss596.leigh

As previously stated, many of you were great with the reviews on NEW MOON PARODY, but this particular one caught our attentions. We hope you all love it just as much as we did!

My first reaction was: “What the ^%@*!^(~?! I didn’t see that coming!”

Nevertheless, when I had seen the whole video, I had to think it through – this is nothing like what they’ve done before.

The first thing that comes to mind is that, in this video in comparison to TWILIGHT PARODY, Hilly and Hannah have dared to take more steps away from the original films. That’s a huge risk but they pulled it off – and I don’t understand how they did it! From the tramp stamp to the boxing fight, from Bella’s clothing and make-up to Bella’s attitude, and more – that could have gone really bad but, genius as the sisters are, the music brought it all together in a really professional way.

The acting, on everyone’s part, is brilliant. I love the new faces, especially the Volturi cast; they were all very look-alikeish! I want to give homage to Kyle’s expression at the end! Brilliant! That’s really how [the character of] Jacob must have felt inside though he didn’t show it. Haha! I think Jacob has improved a lot since TWILIGHT PARODY and he’s giving Edward much more feeling than Robert Pattinson did in the original film. And Hilly brought the attitude to the screen, which Kristen Stewart was incapable of doing. Thank God for that.

For me, my favorite part in the video was how well Hillywood imitated the Volterra scene. The lighting, the extras (I spotted Mary & Sara!), the acting, the set – that’s incredible. Well done! Other parts I really enjoyed were the TWILIGHT apple reference, the chainsaw sequence (which was taken from P!nk’s video), the Volturi dance, and the sequences from Forks. Beautiful! Also loved the show where Hilly leaned against the truck!

Now… For the things I had a little bit of a problem with… As a Swede and a “not listening to the lyrics even if they’re in my own language” kind of person, I found it hard to connect the text to the video. I’m going to have to watch this several times to get the message, I guess. The other thing is that the video is messy [with] all the fragments just thrown together. It’s hard to follow a certain storyline. But maybe that’s the point? Everything was in chaos like Bella’s feelings?

The birthday sequence felt unnecessary, but I did like that there was suddenly a rock band, not for the story, but in visual terms – that was good.

I had no expectations for this video, except some beautiful shots and editing. Were my only expectations fulfilled? Certainly! Though, all of this doesn’t make NEW MOON PARODY my favorite one. DARK KNIGHT PARODY still gets that honor!

Congratulations to the winners!

If the three of you could please e-mail your name and mailing address to mary@hillyfans.com, your heart-shaped prizes will be sent out! Oh! You’ll even get them before Valentine’s Day! That’s love.

It seems so long ago that The Hillywood Show was in Seattle… Probably because it has been a while, BUT the important thing is that Mandy of the Mandy’s Mind blog was there and shared a photo and a tidbit with us!

It seems that during the open portion of Charlie Bewley and Daniel Cudmore’s Q&A session, Charlie decided he would walk around the ballroom as the hated/loved Demetri. When he saw Hannah, well, a reenactment is always fun!

Click on the picture above to see one more photo from the Seattle convention! And if you have some time, head over to Mandy’s blog – it’s chock full of entertainment news and pictures!

If you have any pictures from the January conventions and would like to share them with HillyFans.Com, send them over to photos@hillyfans.com and we’ll make sure to get them up as soon as possible (with credit, of course)!

Contest #2 has ended.

No winner has been announced.

NEW MOON PARODY COSTUME FUND has stopped.

No gift allotments have been given.

Have Mary and Sara gotten too cool for HillyFans.Com?!

Okay, we may be versions of Alice and Rosalie… Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy… Tinkerbell and Belle… Glinda and Elphaba… but well, we’re also mere human beings in a real world with jobs and shows and stress and laziness.

So, we apologize profusely for not getting everything set up and sent out by the date we originally wanted to, but things got really hectic with NEW MOON PARODY releasing and then the two of us just… Well, simply put, we needed a mini-break.

However, your favorite duo is getting together this Friday and we will sit and discuss the entries from this past contest. And we’ll choose a winner. Then we’ll pull out the names of two other contestants (sounds like a beauty pageant, doesn’t it?) to be winners.

And then, the two of us will go through the list of people who donated to The NEW MOON PARODY Costume Fund and figure out who is getting what gift package – we had a great turn-out of donations that we are sure helped John out and we want to thank everyone properly!

On that note, please be patient with receiving the gifts. We will most likely put a post up in the Forum so that the proper people can send us an address, but we literally just realized that some of these may be expensive to ship – some of them going out internationally as well. So we will do our best to get things out quickly but please don’t yell if it doesn’t arrive in two days or something.

Forgive us and we promise to be up and running just like before soon!

And just for commenting’s sake and for fun…

Which duo would you compare us to?

The cast of The Hillywood Show may have just departed the foggy town of Seattle, but last weekend, they hit up Miami, a city known for its spicy fun! A few HillyMoms attended The Official Twilight Convention and were kind enough to offer us their pictures of the event.
